How Mounjaro Works

Mounjaro is the first dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist. It targets two hormone pathways involved in appetite regulation and blood sugar control, which may explain why clinical trials show greater weight loss compared to GLP-1-only medications like Wegovy and Ozempic.

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial, participants without diabetes lost an average of 22.5% of their body weight on the highest dose over 72 weeks.

What to Do Next

If you're interested in Mounjaro, you'll need a prescription from a registered healthcare professional. This involves a consultation to assess your eligibility based on BMI, health history, and current medications.

For those already using Wegovy or other GLP-1 medications, switching to Mounjaro is possible once stock is available. Discuss timing and transition with your prescriber.

Mounjaro is not funded by PHARMAC. All costs are out-of-pocket.

At Well Revolution, we offer a free initial consultation to determine if Mounjaro is safe and appropriate for you.
